Professor Anne-Marie Jackson (Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Kahu o Whangaroa, Ngāpuhi, Ngātiwai) is one of the Co-Directors of the National Centre of Research Excellence Coastal People: Southern Skies. She is a Director of her whanau consultancy Rehutai Consulting Ltd.She is nearing the completion of a Health Research Council funded Rangahau Hauora Māori Project Tangaroa Ara Rau: Māori water safety programme for whānau and a Marsden Fund project Te whai wawewawe ā Māuitikitiki-ā-Taranga: Revitalisation of Māori string figure knowledge and practice. She co-established Te Koronga, a programme of Māori research and teaching excellence that focuses on mauri ora or flourishing wellness for Māori communities. Through Te Koronga, her and her team have successfully built a kaupapa Māori research workforce.

Her research and teaching focuses on mauri ora (flourishing wellness), namely through the application of te ao Māori, te Tiriti o Waitangi and kaupapa Māori. She works alongside her own whānau, and many iwi and hapū throughout Aotearoa in addressing issues of importance in their tino rangatiratanga. She is an active member of the rangahau Māori network in the intentional advancement of transformational change through research.
