PhD Scholarships. Due to funding cycles we cannot offer and support PhD scholarships beyond 2028.
Don’t forget to check out the putea section at the end of this panui. There are a range of different scholarships closing over the next few months. Some are full stipends, some are one off awards and some are to assist travel.
Tauira Tuhituhingā 15-18 November 2025
We are planning a writing retreat in Dunedin prior to the Wānanga. We are still finalising the venue but please register your interest in attending this event by emailing CPSS.
Tauira Advisory Group
We are establishing Tauira Advisory Komiti and will advance this at the wananga in November. Thank you to those who have volunteered for this komiti, we will contact you shortly.
Tauira Wānanga 18-20 November 2025
The wānanga will be held at Puketeraki Marae. This is an opportunity for CPSS Tauira to come together as a rōpū, share ideas and talk mahi. You will have the opportunity to present if you wish. Register at the link below.
Tuhituhi – It’s all about writing
Ultimately as scholars at some point we have to put pen to paper and write. Here are my three writing tips for the spring of 2025.
“If you can use an easy word that people know rather than a multi-sylable word that sounds cool but needs further explanation, use the easy word.”
“When you think you are finished a piece of work, print out a hard copy for proof reading.” Not sure if it my eyesight or my lack of IT skills but typo’s seem to have a talent to miraculously appear in the hard copy.
“If you are stuck, move on to something else, even if it is just making lists, section headings and bullet points.” At least you have have a structure to start putting things as they come to mind.
Tuhi Kapua
Keep your writing in the cloud!!! I have seen several distraught students over the years who have lost weeks of work by not backing up. Simple, write in the cloud. Most collaboration is done there now in some form.
