Rangatahi Tumeke is a charitable trust that runs wānaka to help connect rangatahi to the natural environment to develop confidence and life skills. Their project will be based around wānaka, capability building among rangatahi and community members from coastal communities while they realise their aspiration of the planning and constructing a whare wānanga on their whenua. Through the build, rangatahi will be exposed to mātauranga Māori, construction and trade experiences alongside freshwater science, biodiversity, and surveying.
